LOST IN JAPAN started from a trip to Japan and was edited with the idea of making it feel like more than just “a collection of nice videos”. I wanted it to have rhythm, identity, and that slightly strange feeling you get when you are somewhere new: everything comes at you quickly, but a few details stay with you more than the rest.
The series mixes spontaneous moments, cities, details, lighter scenes, and more atmospheric passages. I did not want the journey to feel too perfect or polished. What mattered more was keeping the real energy of the place, even when it feels chaotic, fast, or hard to organize.
The goal was to make each episode feel like a well-edited memory: personal, immediate, but still recognizable.
Finding the rhythm
The most important part was balancing vlog and storytelling. On one side there is the spontaneity of the trip; on the other, the video still needs structure so the viewer does not get lost after a few seconds.
I focused mostly on rhythm, selection, and transitions between scenes: alternating movement-heavy moments with quieter ones, letting certain details breathe, and using music and cuts to create energy without making everything feel too frantic.
Giving the series a shape
Each episode had to work on its own, while still belonging to the same world. That is why I tried to keep consistency in color, music, pacing, and transitions.
Japan is already visually powerful, so the risk was relying only on that. The real work was choosing what to keep, what to cut, and how to communicate a specific feeling: wonder, movement, disorientation, curiosity.
My contribution

- balance between spontaneous vlog and more intentional storytelling;
- preparation and organization of the YouTube playlist.
